Dog, I knew Belize Gaming and the guys that formed it. Also World Wide Web Casino's, Net Pirates, and about a dozen more. Some of the hustlers are in jail and others will be joining them. Casino's were HOT. Most of them headquartered in the Caribbean on some island. Gambling on line didn't do well until "Texas Hold'em" caught on. It would appear that the inherent desire of some to get rich with some great new idea at the expense of their fellow man will never change.
Drilling for oil is an exciting thought and the hope of getting rich is a hell of a magnet.
IMO, Tom has run out of options. "Know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em." I would probably have blown the $5,000 on wine, women and song anyway.
