There never was an imminent threat to justify the rush to war in Iraq. The UN teams were back in Iraq and should have been allowed to complete their work.

Bush could have picked up the support of the world by exercising stuborn patience with the inspection process and applying pressure to Saddam. He would have gained support by getting better intelligence on Iraq. Instead he charged ahead and lost the support we badly need in the real fight against the real terrorists.

This has cost us dearly in treasure, in lives and in time.
It has taken the focus off of pursuit of our manifest enemies.
It has taken focus off the pursuit of the perpetrators of 911.
Russia is now bearing part of the cost of the resurgent Bin Laden forces. Recruitment has become easier for the organized terrorists. The governments of Iraq and Afghanistan are very unstable.

Instability in Pakistan is a far more serious matter since they are a moslem state that is nuclear with the delivery systems necessary. Should Pakistan fall into the hands of a
terrorist or terrorist supported group Bush's nightmare would become a reality over night.

This administration has expended our resources on the wrong targets and the wrong enemy.
