Although the treatment period is only 14 days, there are several tasks to be accomplished first:

• Obtaining FDA and foreign approvals for the trial design.

• Establishing review boards and principal investigators at the various trial centers.

• Enrolling the requisite number of patients.

All told, mid 2010 does not seem unduly late for this trial to be reporting data.
