That's correct, side. Actually, every transaction is a buy and a sell.

The system simply tags it as a buy if the trade went off at the ask - and a sell if the trade went off at the bid. While not perfect by any means, it's still a helpful mechanism for determining just a bit more about the market to help you decide. :)
