#8315 RE: stehvestor #8310

Stehvestor,

This time around I will keep off the topic of English.

You say: "I believe that the paramount desire of the majors is piracy protection, something the shift key fiasco changed scmi's
initial "piracy protection" to "copy management", playability
and total protection is the real goal."

My question in reply to this, which I interpret as the most important remark in your post, is: "What other company is out there right now, offering "copy management" and an extremely high degree of "piracy protection"?

I think that it's clear enough that the only company in that position is SunnComm, and I think it will become increasingly clear, too, that MediaMax5 is a huge advance on MediaMax4. In that sense SCMI is far, far ahead and, IMO, is pulling clear.

What conceivable reason could there be, if that is correct, for other recording companies to refrain from signing? I for one cannot see any.

Maybe the next couple of months will clarify this kind of issue. The kind of figures we have been getting on "Contraband", in particular, are astonishingly good as an attestation of the effectiveness of the technology.

Regards,
