They definatly want to make it. Its like any other marketing. These promoters are here to sell the stock. The companies use them for their contacts (newsletters, e-mail lists, Etc.) The more people that hear about it, the more people buy it. They just usually want to hold on to it to get max profits. My brother still owns stock that he promoted because they are good companies, but then alot of them have also gone out of business and changed names and so on.
