11:20 (Dow Jones) Xoma (XOMA) shares slip 9.8% to 78c despite the company
reporting Phase I results that confirmed efficacy of its Type II diabetes drug,
Xoma 052. Analysts say investors may be focusing on the fact that efficacy of
the drug diminished at higher doses. Despite this, RBC Capital Markets says
results support advancing Xoma 052 to Phase II trials and should be sufficient
to support a partnership by the end of year. Wedbush Morgan's Liana Moussatos
says she wouldn't be surprised if the shares recover later today. (JHT)
