i just tried for the fun of it to see if ftp is a supported "run" command independent of the browser.

can't wait to see apple running commercials about the first thing you should do on your pc is to run a "dos" cli command to get a browser.

You just don't get it, do you. Download your favorite browser from the net, with what? The o/s without a browser has no way to access the net. Just like the old AOL days. A browser will have to be mailed to you. Or you can buy a Netscape Browser Disk at the store for 10 bucks.

Further, there will be other MAJOR deficiencies such as no ability to get the 100's of free updates and upgrades that Microsoft offers. Nor will "Help" work without Knowledge DB. These and maybe 50 other features will not be available.

The O/S will be available but no one will buy it, except maybe you and 11 others of equal understanding of software.

The EU wants an O/S without a browser, fine, ----'em where they live. :))
