I visited the SLP facility last month and had a short email exchange with Walt regarding the staff level.

The last 10K indicates the employee count to be 32 full time and 2 part time. Walt tells me that the current level is 39 and that he has recently interviewed one and expects to interview another Ph.D. this week. He hopes to make both of them an offer. My take on this is that there is a lot of productive work going on... Walt is so tight with money that he squeaks when he walks! He would never hire staff unless there was good work to keep them busy. It's anybody's guess as to why he might be hiring... One could even speculate that an acquisition is nearing completion and that a specific type of person is required to be on board to head up the new division or what ever. But, like I said speculation.

I'm confident that Walt is doing the right things to grow the company.
