China – US$9.7 billion investment kicks off AMR/AMI projects nationwide

Not to mention the need and requirement for better quality, innovative technologies and solutions etc as well as the driving engines from economic growth, rising energy demand and consumption and ongoing energy reforms from the industry.

China has already become the biggest manufacturers and users of utility meters and components /parts in the world. The deployment of AMR/AMI systems nationwide will continue to drive the market growth especially creating huge business opportunities for electronic parts/components, semiconductors, and system solution as well as communication technology providers.

With the fast development of customer information system, modernization of metering operation, efficiency improvement in Chinese power utilities, metering, AMR, billing, data management have become vital processes in the Chinese power sectors. The AMR/AMI further development will enable Chinese utilities to develop digital grids and smart homes, as well as further upgrade energy management skills.
