flydoc, I was expecting MUCH more than 2.5 mil CD's in the 1st 6 months, THIS based upon company Press releases Stating that just in March ALONE they shipped over 1 mil, and on April 8 2004 issuing a press release stating they were over the 2 mil mark! Again, based on your assumptions I would have expected closer to 10 mil CD's in the 2nd qtr based on those releases which also stated "we are finding increasing acceptance among record company executives and consumers in the marketplace."
OR, the number of CD's shipped is much higher, but with much lower revenue per CD? Possibly due to testing agreements?

Here are thos 2 announcements:

SunnComm’s MediaMax CDs Surpass 2 Million in North American Commercial Sales

PHOENIX, AZ., April 8, 2004 — SunnComm Technologies, Inc. (OTC: STEH), a leader in the development of digital content security and enhancement for optical media, announced today that record companies holding MediaMax™ licensing agreements have, so far, utilized the SunnComm audio CD copy management technology on more than 2 million commercial CDs in the United States, Mexico, and Canada. At least two of the latest commercial releases are expected to earn their artists “Gold” or “Platinum” status indicating sales of over 500,000 and 1,000,000 copies respectively during the 2nd quarter.

“Reporting SunnComm’s cumulative licensing, use and sales progress is important because MediaMax use and sales on major and independent label CD releases are increasing every quarter.” says SunnComm’s president Peter Jacobs. “I believe the licensing and sales increase reflects the growing acceptance of MediaMax CD copy management technology within the North American marketplace and we expect meaningful growth in other territories around the world during this year."

SunnComm is planning to expand its North American technology roll out while it gears up to become Europe’s and Asia’s first choice for record distributors as well. QuietTiger (OTCBB:QTIG and QTIG.BE) is the international sales and marketing arm for SunnComm’s MediaMax technologies. According to QuietTiger’s VP of Sales and Marketing, Scott Stoegbauer, “MediaMax works to control casual copying while it incorporates incredible new features on the CDs that empower CD buyers to copy and share music in a licensed and ethical manner.”

According to Michal Avniel, SunnComm’s VP of MediaMax Operations, “The technology works to increase revenues from CD sales. Increased sales benefit both artists and copyright holders.” She continues, “Every record company utilizing SunnComm’s MediaMax technology and, along with it, the copy management technology’s incorporated features, will experience an overall increase in sales well beyond its cost for MediaMax. The technology creates a licensed and legal way for consumers to copy and share music while helping to increase sales by inhibiting casual copying.”
