You are correct, of course, but upc does not seem to respond to subtle and intricate thinking.

Certainly, it would not happen overnight and it certainly might not be as momentous as I let on, but the main point is still true.

Apple licenced and then revoked the licence to allow their o/s to run on other systems, and they are still doing quite well.

BUT sun knows how IMPORTANT Solaris is to the proprietary nature of their product, their main profitwise product. Certainly, they can adapt but that was not the unreasoned Insult that what's his name was posting.

Further, sun knows this and they are rapidly trying to get manufacturing outsourced (or rather the risk of equipment manufacturing and the profits thereon) to Fujitsu.
