Elton John's life is one of the most chronicled on the planet. Everything he does is newsworthy; everywhere he goes people seek him out. Here in the Life section we have built up a library of features about many aspects of Elton's life, and in these features we try to give you information and pictures that you will not find elsewhere. Among these features for example there's an eyewitness account of life in Elton's Rocket Record Company in the 1970's, an interview with Songs From The West Coast photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, two incredible accounts of Elton's 1975 Dodger Stadium concerts, a tribute to the friendship and collaboration between Elton and John Lennon and most recently, an interview with Sir Tim Rice.
This clip was filmed at the Fayetteville concert, which was one of Elton's favourite shows from the 2000 Solo Medusa Tour. Eltonjohn.com regularly provides Rocket members with a new video track from this concert for viewing. These tracks can be found in the Sneak Previews area of the Rocket section. Within time, Rocket members can build up an entire sequence of songs from this concert for full viewing. And for this brief time, eltonjohn.com shares a glimpse of Rocket's Sneak Previews with non-members in the Life Section.
There is no way the phenominal life and musicianship of Elton John could go undocumented and unchronicled in published print. For it has been done several times over. From the superstar Seventies through the Eighties, to today, a number of books has been published that discuss nothing other than the icon that is Elton John. Some cover his entire life from birth to the year it was released, while other focus on some particular element of his existence. Nonetheless, the average Elton John fan should not feel discouraged when needing to find a biographical reference. The entries listed below are several books that I have come across in my travels as a collector. Some are hardbound, some are softcover, and some are pocketsize paperbacks. In most cases, I have relayed a description of the book as it was printed on the back cover or overleaf, as well as detailed other facts of publication, in case you were interested to find a copy for yourself. Several of these books are long out of print, but if you persevere, you may come across some of the older titles in a second hand store or even on the internet. Some are not necessarily about Elton himself, but may be of interest to Elton fans nonetheless.
