That is true. Clock for clock, the two are pretty close. At this moment in time, Dothan has a significant power consumption lead at 2GHz also. The closest the K8 can come with announced products is the Opteron EE, and it only clocks at 1.4GHz. It will be interesting to see what AMD can do at 90nm...
