You still don't get it. The end result was 68 additional watts of power from the Prescott system, which does not match conventional wisdom, no matter how you try to spin it...
...it only points to one thing - the data is wrong.
This (ZD Net) is not the first site that tested power consumption at the power outlet. All I have seen consistently show a substantial difference between Prescott and Athlon 64.
As far as 68 Watt difference, what's so incredible? Here is a hypothetical scenario:
Extra CPU power consumptions 32 Watts Northbridge (per Sun) 11 Watts Total 43 Watts Voltage regulator efficiency (.9) 47 Watts Power supply efficiency (.7) 68 Watts
