Google's attempt is to go to their own server and keep it in house. However, I doubt that they have ALL their data on one server. They need to redirect and pull information from many sources. Look at the example of products. One barcode pulls up 10 places to buy the product. Is that a redirect? I would think you cannot click on one barcode and have a static webpage prebuilt that shows all the places to buy it. What happens when one goes out of business or changes its price? Our guest poster today understands the patent and is trying to work around it. In the end, indirect is more powerful and that is what will win for NeoMedia and more importantly vendors, advertisers, manufacturers and consumers.
