but have you noticed when this does explode it goes in 3 phase

day one nice rally
day two HUGE rally
Day three HUGE but consolidates

not likely. if they said they would convert WAMUs shares to something else it would have to be a future date. otherwise what would happen to the shares after todays settlement date? they can't just ignore them. this can not be like a declared dividend on an x-dividend date imo. If they do something you would wish you had bought more at least by Friday. Monday would be to late...
