I'm looking forward to the day when the majority of the population gets pissed off and decides that they need to do more than make political jokes, have "tea parties" and send carbon copy emails that get carbon-copy responses. Apparently it isn't painful enough yet. No doubt the gov will continue to tighten the screws until it is painful enough. I just don't trust that the majority will comprehend all that is going on, let alone be willing to fight at any cost for true freedom.
I started paying very close attention to politicians and their two-faced ways in the Clinton years. Started becoming aware of the facade they all work to present and the diversions they place in front of the faces of the ignorant masses to keep them focused on and arguing over things that aren't important. They smile and tell everyone what they want to hear, but their true agenda occurs behind closed doors and it has nothing to do with what would benefit those they are supposed to be representing. Of course there are exceptions, but they are too few and their words don't get the main media attention because they don't have the moguls in their back pockets.
But, the one thing that I always keep in the back of my mind whenever I watch the news and start to fume is this: It is still a government "of the people, by the people and for the people". The people still have the power to choose to get rid of the "politicians" and put real people who will actually represent them in office. The government is an accurate reflection of the majority of the population who chose to put them there.
So, since I don't like it and I'm the minority, then I have no choice but to leave for somewhere that offers the kind of freedom that I'm looking for. I only hope it still exists somewhere.
