"Shareholder meeting started at 8.30 The business week ahead

Heads up: Amid another week full of quarterly earnings results, a number of key national economic reports are scheduled. On Monday are March construction-spending figures. On Tuesday, the Institute for Supply Management issues its service-sector index for April. Thursday brings reports on retail sales, consumer debt, and productivity and labor costs. The week wraps up with the latest numbers on wholesale trade and the U.S. unemployment rate, which stood at 8.5 percent in March.

Today: Starbucks launches a long-term brand-marketing campaign. It's also considering re-pricing some drinks, and in a promotion that begins Tuesday, it will sell 16-ounce iced coffee for less than $2.

Tuesday: The Northwest Multiple Listing Service is expected to release local home sales data for April. House prices slid in March, although there were signs that sales activity might be starting to pick up. That might be confirmed by April data.

Thursday: The Federal Reserve will release "stress test" results for the nation's 19 biggest banks.

Friday: Eddie Bauer holds its annual shareholders meeting at 8:30 a.m. at its Bellevue headquarters.
