I have seen a stock go over a bid when the stock expected a higher offer. Seen it quite a few times.

Not trying to push the issue, whatever it may be, but on March 24th I was watching the newswire when a PR came out for Hearst-Argyle Television that they would be bought for $4 per share.

Looks like they upped the price to $4.50 on April 27th.

But back to the 24th... Within 20 minutes of the initial PR it jumped to $4 and beyond. I saw the PR, and logged into my account looking to free up some cash to buy in, but by the time I was ready to hit that buy button it jumped up from $2 LOL, I almost made it! Would have been sweet to double my money within 30 minutes.
