O/T Wow, that's a hassle. I got my MDX in 2003 over the internet, sight unseen. However, I had test driven one at a local dealer, so I was familiar.

I recall only needing a few minutes to sign my stuff and Fed Ex it back. I sent the money electronically to the dealer, and they delivered the car direct to my driveway on a trailer.

I got my Sienna over the internet as well, and I eliminated the dealers who asked me to phone or stop in for pricing. We picked up that car like you did, but I was out of there in about 10-minutes. I tend to do things fast. When I signed my realtor to sell my last house I think I interviewed him and was signed and done in 15-minutes.

Yes, the Vibe is produced in the NUMMI factory in Fremont, CA. The platform is a Corolla platform. I knew the factory was a joint venture between Toyota and GM originally back in the 80's, but I didn't know the plant was opened in 1964:
