I was using them for quite some time and then a few months ago, they had some pretty bad performance problems. So bad that I switched to USA Today for weather information.
So chipguy, in your experience, it is common place for a company to use only one IT architecture. In reading your link, it appears that the weather channel is replacing RISC servers with I2. They are not replacing Opteron. Also, I noted that the original Opteron announcement was for weather.com, which is a subsidiary of the weather channel.
