They are not the same, the extension on the website is .ca, that is Canada, they are Universal Energy GROUP not Corp., and their stock ticker is UEG.

The most prevalent difference in these two companies is that the Canadian company seems to be running a scam. From what I could tell, they were going door to door in Canada and telling customers that they can offer lower rates, then signing customers up, charging ridiculous fees and offering nothing that they said they would.

There are thousands of complaints about the Canadian company all over the internet. Try some of these and you'll see what I'm talking about:
