guess there was no substance to it all.

That would be my guess. That's probably why his lawyer went into court and got continuances 6 times. That's what I would do if I was innocent.

You don't know that for a fact. It most likely was some type of plea bargain or the witnesses did not show up to the trial. The way the docket shows charges could be sanctioned again should Barnett not live up to his end of any potential plea deal. He's not out of the woods yet.
