Fortunately for us all that release would be construed narrowly by a court if it ever came to that. If the release was intended to say what you are suggesting, the drafter should have taken much more care to ensure that that idea was clearly conveyed by the words on the page.
I hate bad legal drafting. I spend a lot of my time word-smithing and crafting this stuff.
So I often read something and say to myself: "I know what this means, as badly written as it is, because that is the way I might have written this provision if I were being careless."
