he has a point, the published TDP for the Hammers is higher than the one for the Athlons. True, there is anectdotal evidence that they draw less power, but...

Speaking of anectdotal evidence. I can run my r3000z for over an hour playing "Enemy Territories" and it reduces the battery capacity to about 60%. My battery is 100 watt/hours and that indicates the average power consumption is about 40 watts, or less. The system is getting a workout, the fan comes on and stays on and the bottom gets warm, something that doesn't happen doing anything else. My CPU monitor shows the processor is pegged at 1.8GHz the whole time, although it is possible that it is dropping to 800MHz whenever the monitor isn't sampling. Still, I think the CPU is operating at under its TDP of 62 watts...


Could be wrong, though.
