Dew, did you get a chance to listen to the Lazard Cleveland clinic call. Joel Sendek is a complete idiot. If you did how could you not think the DNDN folks have a slight right to be upset. This is a quote from Sendek straight from the call "Lead PI said that Provenge effect was a hallucination and same Doc says Abiraterone is the holy grail." Sendek's questions on all the calls I've heard him on are quite simple and he seems to lack a very basic knowledge of anything needed for an adequate biotech analyst. He has been corrected on calls several times by DNDN management and on many other CC he has participated in.
"The DNDN loonies are certain that the abiraterone program is a conspiracy to deny Provenge its rightful place in the prostate-cancer pecking order."
Given that abiraterone is hitting the hormone pathways for PC it would seam likely to have little to no effect on Provenge uptake (which hopefully would be used concurrently with hormone therapy after radiation/surgery).
I do think it has taken over from Provenge for it's place on the PC over-hyped list though :-)
