Well it depends on your application. A64 and P4 are very polarized and excel at different things. If you are talking games or business applications then probably yes. The P4 will still be top in media applications. In short if we see a 4.266/2M/1066 then No otherwise Yes. The former is looking 50/50 at the moment for 2005 and it may require 65nm to get there in volume. Prescott started out naff and it just isn't getting any better with age. Intel are not really suffering at the moment as their most popular part, the 3.0, they can make in volume but their asps could suffer if their binsplits don't start to improve fairly soon. 90nm looks a real bitch, it's quite fortunate that AMD ultimately had the best 130nm design ;-).

Does INTC have a 3.8ghz out yet? Last I remember reading something about it; the release date was q4. Given the apparent 3.6 problems INTC will have its' hands full just doing a 3.8ghz paper launch.

We haven't begun to see what AMD can do with 90nm yet. INTC really has fallen into the pigsty and can't get out. By h1 of next year the pressure on INTC should be horrendous, especially if MSFT gets out an AMD64 OS.

It beginning to look more and more like those rumors of AMD outsourcing are probably correct.
