It will open and close trades if running in auto trade mode. Least it does on my demo account. It will go long and short. It is time and pair specific so play around with the settings until you get a pattern that seems to work best. Longer lengths of the moving averages of the individual IFT components will help avoid false entries although shorter MA periods may be best depending on the volatility of the pair and the timeframe selected. The last panel with the green histogram shows total profit in pips. I believe out-of-the-box it shows 4000+ pips on a 4 hour beast although that is a pretty good bit of time (almost a month I think) and around 220 pips on a 5 min beast.

Good afternoon iwjw...congrats on the new demo ...VTtrader is absolutely awesome.I can probably answer most even tho the post is to gitonwithit.
Yes...the TS autotrades if you tell it to.Its designed for all conditions...long...close long...short...close short....The blue arrow is a long entry signal and blue exit sign is signal to close long.Red arrow is signal to short and red exit sign signal to close short....so there are actually 4 signals. All systems are plug and play but can easily be edited for tweaking or experimenting by simply unchecking the box(if checked) to accept and save new criteria.
Will let git talk with you about backtesting bit IMO since the VTtrader charts maintain their data rather than advancing it off the screen the reliability and results are easily seen just by pulling up and examining the chart.I see on forum tho where others have talked about backtesting x many bars and have said things like 50 winning trades and 14 losing trades on a system and net P&L for the periods..so I suppose others have an indepth backtest knowledge on VT systems.
