I hate to say this but I almost think this argument between you and sgolds is a moot point...most of the consumers will figure out the performance/cost ratio pretty quickly and come to a decision without a problem...my personal take on this whole situation is that I think AMD management must think Intel has taken them to the cleaners by using the celeron as a foil against the superior Athlon XP...AMD has made some improvements in the sempron and will compare quite favorably to the celeron...AMD will probably be capicity constrained as they will provide more Athlon A64's going forward and will not be able to produce as many semprons going forward until next year when they will drop the price of semprons for the developing world computer market...
