Celeron is a value brand. MHZ is not a performance rating but a physical characteristic of the processor. AMD is trying to have it both ways really. They tell you what THEY think the performance is but the truth is that one number does not represent all performance scenarios. It might be true for some set of benchmarks but performance is more complex than one number. There are more than a few benchmarks where the Celeron D was pretty strong(UPC/DOUGSFs characterizations of bad Celeron D performance are quite funny). This is total marketing bs. If Intel did this y'all would be screaming bloody murder:)
