Well the acquirer could buy shares for 2 cents on the open market- I think they would load up on as many of those as possible and pay whatever they needed for the final 300-500 million shares that probably are in super tight hands. I don't think the acquirer needs to really worry about the common holder but Jared and Craig seem like they want the longs to participate in any deals. So, I am thankful to them.
