I am a man of science, and for my own moral reason, an agnostic. Having said that, and because I am a man of science, I know that "G-d" existence is not something that can be proved or disproved and I can rationalize based on scientific knowledge we have today most of the old testament accounts. I did that on this thread a while back relating to the seven days of creation.
Mind you, some of the most gifted scientists I have ever known, were deeply religious. They had no problems reconciling the old testament with science at all. They acknowledged the shortcoming of the human mind and the fact that all the beautiful scientific models we have developed of nature and the universe are just that, "models". Just look at our current "String theory", we have five independent models, which one really represents our universe? If we have five, do you really think there is any good reason that there really are 100 of these, and we just have not "uncovered" all of them?
