I just saw a Circuit City back to school ad on Comedy Central. It featured a very cute girl and an AMD64 laptop by HP. While I am ignoring the actor that played the girls father there was not a mention of Intel in the ad.

It's apparently the same unit listed in the circular this weekend for $1499.99 (after $200 mail in rebates) making the in store price $1699.99. #ZV5255US

BJ's Wholesale Club

They had two HP notebooks with Pentium 4s, $1,000 - $1,200.
One AMD 2800 desktop for $600. It looks like they have been
cleaned out of systems as they normally carry many more
machines.

blauboad, I saw an HP TV ad for an A64 notebook this evening. There does seem to be a lot of publicity from HP all of a sudden. Has to say good things about manufacturing.

blauboad - It certainly was a pleasant surprise to hear about it, especially after the 40-page Intel-only flyer I got in the mail from HP directly a while back. Let's just hope that AMD's/Best Buy's was better targeted to catch the masses.
