John Elias just e-mailed me back, saying they would like to see the stock price considerably higher of course.
Also, They have a had a lot of interest in either merger or purchase of assests from a number of parties- 34 companies have made appointments to the data room to date. A merger is still their preferred path but we are seriously looking at a recapitalization alternative as well asselling selected assets.

SECURITY DESCRIPTION: Edge Petroleum Corp., 5.75% Series A Cumulative Convertible Perpetual Preferred Stock, liquidation preference $50 per share, and with no stated maturity. Distributions of 5.75% ($2.875) per annum are paid quarterly on 1/15, 4/15, 7/15 & 10/15 to holders of record on 1/1, 4/1, 7/1 & 10/1 respectively. Dividends paid by the preferred are eligible for the 15% tax rate on dividends under normal holding restrictions and are also eligible for the dividends received deduction for corporate holders (see page S-81 of the prospectus for further information). The preferred shares are convertible any time at the holder's option into 3.0193 common shares of Edge Petroleum Corp. (Nasdaq: EPEX), an initial conversion price of $16.56 per common share. On or after 1/20/2010, if the price of the common stock exceeds 130% of the conversion price for 20 of any 30 consecutive trading days, the company may, at their option, force the preferred shares to be converted into common shares at the then prevailing conversion price. Upon a fundamental change, holders may require the company to purchase any or all of their shares of Series A Preferred Stock at the liquidation preference, plus any accumulated and unpaid dividends to the date of purchase, which they may pay in cash, shares of their common stock or any combination of cash and shares at their option.
