Those were just vague anecdotal reports, not controlled data.

Theoretically, there's a good chance that an Ampakine can help with the central type of SA, by increasing the signal to breathe coming from the brain. But if a patient's apnea is due mainly to a physical obstruction in the throat, an Ampakine's benefit may only be minimal, and not enough to replace the C-Pap/Bi-Pap machine. I guess we'll see what happens in the trial.

Even if Ampakines are only useful for the central type of SA, that is still a pretty big market.
