Ok then well imo the rating will be more like an overall = than a + compared to Celeron D. The A64 ratings do have a 5-10% factor in for the + which is why they have held their asp for so long. The last time AMD did this was with the XP 3000+ and XP 3200+ ratings which against the P4C was more like a - and the consumers promptly responded by reducing the XP market selling prices from P4 to Celeron levels !

As to your second part, well my contention is that XP sells in volume precisely because *everyone* knows it's slower than a P4C/E generally but slaughters any Celeron which would still be true generally against even the Celeron D and thus its branding and market value will be unaffected. All that good work will be thrown away with these K7 Semprons and the K8 Sempron will have to work to get it back. To me this could potentially be a blunder of catastrophic proportions because if the K7s don't sell in similar quantities that they do now AMD could quite possibly end up FUBAR. I don't mind being the lone voice in the wilderness on this and I hope I am singing the wrong song but I have not been remotely convinced by any counter argument I have heard yet but I live in hope.
