...to distribute cheap generic drugs to poor folks who are on state-subsidized health programs as an aid the uninsured poor.
Incidental to that activity, they had some sort of electronic records keeping system targeting the medical industry. But as far as I know it never took off, probably due to the draconian laws around privacy issues. Perhaps the time for this tech to succeed is at hand.
At one point they had several warehouses at various locations on the eastern seaboard to inventory their drugs. They were securing credit and making deals with drug suppliers, etc., and bidding on various state sponsored programs. But as far as I know nothing ever came of it. If they had made this plan work I am sure thay would have crowed about it.
As you may be aware, larger companies like Walmart and Walgreen, etc. have jumped into the generic drug biz in a big way about two years ago. That is about when this company started to go into "stealth mode".
Exactly why they are being so secretive is a good question. Why don't you call them up and ask them. Enquiring minds want to know the answer.
