"Good Council meeting with the State Department of Resources and Economic Development last night. Commissioner Bald stated “the State will not force anything you don’t want down your throat."
Are the minutes of that meeting available? And by you is he referring to the mayor or the city council, or those opposed to Laidlaw. What about those town folk that are in favor of Laidlaw do they not have a say in this matter?
I do not understand where this "forcing Laidlaw down Berlin throats" mentality originated, but from talking to people that I know in the area (I still have connections with locals), the only dissent I have heard about the project has been:
1) The Council 2) The few known bashers on this blog 3) The byte and chew blog
That accounts for about ~20 people.
Everyone I have heard from seems very optimistic and excited that a company is willing to invest that much money into Berlin.
