OT--Yes, I do, and ever since the Murieletto (pardon spelling) boatlift, during which time we gleefully imported about 30,000 felons, Florida has not been too concerned about security of any kind--it is so bad in south Florida right now, you dare not let your wife ride the highways at night alone without a weapon (and I don't mean a TASR) with her. in edit= we have since moved to center of the State

Yes, I live on the entrance to port everglades....all ships pass within about 75 yds from our back entrance. Should see the large container ships including "China" container ships loaded with goods.

From time to time we see more coast guard activitly at the entrance...not sure what goes on inside the port but all land entrances have guard stops to pass through with inspection and id's being checked.

We have large petro storage tanks inside the port area. Local police and fire cuts have already be implemented and property taxes headed up as much as 30% according to todays newspaper.
