I don't deny that. There have been countless "wrong" reports... for instance, Mark's JDA source said the OBO PR would be out tomorrow... 7 weeks earlier.
Fact is, the JDA guy has no control. He reports what he hears. Companies change their plans.
Consider this... Chevron drilled OBO-1, struck a major find, and the JDA fully expected a PR out soon. Mark's JDA guy conveyed that expectation, but Chevron decides to tight hole the discovery. Chevron takes 7 weeks to decide how to tamp down the giddy reports that had already leaked out. They let the JDA know they are releasing a PR about OBO-1, Marks JDA source gets excited and shares the news, and it is accurate...
but damn, they said "at least 150 ft net pay" and might not be commercial. "Tamp down" complete, and they haven't said a damn thing since.
I am 70% convinced that the JDZ is bigger than the 14B estimate. It took a decade of jockeying and World Court involvement to finally get the PSC's signed. If you look at the "meandering channel" and then consider the axis of Lemba, Kina, OBO, and the renamed Principe prospect (I forget the name, Bodu or something), it's a straight line and looks more like appraisal drilling of a *massive* field than it does exploration drilling.
Why a straight line along the meandering channel? If each block had unique structures the drilling pattern would be more scattered... these guys are working together.
