There's a column in today's wsj (C1) regarding the HD/LOW discrepancy, how the valuations have narrowed and HD has recently made its business more efficient. (I'm biased, though, as I've been a HD shareholder since 1990.)
HD..possibly correct, which is why we should be looking for a potential short in the morning either way. A gap up would be shorted anyhow and although LOW has taken market share away from HD, the 97 EPS rank and 94 Fundamental rank rates HD a much better all around play than many large cap technology stocks. I do agree though that many companies that even gap up, get zapped and could be shorted on the news.
