I was just doing the calculation based on the 1930's. Came up with 1500 but could not stop laughing so How does DOW 3000 sound.

3 Dow components are already trading as worthless components. BAC, GM and C. Alcoa, GE, AMEX, INTC have little effect also because of there low value. For this index to continue to crash Exxon, Chevron, IBM, AT&T, J&J, Dupont, Cat, 3M, Hewlett, etc. will have to crash also. Last time i checked people still need stuff.

Look at the chart of the Dow from 1885 to the present and my guesstimate will make more sense to you.
