This is a pretty weird response, First you bring up Filipino Veterans as a reason for your contempt for the ARRA bill, and now you've withdrawn to some bizarre defensive position.

I actually used the phrase "attack your strawman". It's an expression, not to be confused with attacking *you*. So calm down.

Though the actual name of the bill is the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, some people have nicknamed it "The Stimulus Bill". But in fact, it's actually part stimulus and part relief.

If you're arguing over the purity of the bill, then fine. It's not perfect. You can find plenty of areas to poke holes in it if you tried. But getting a tightly focused bill through a very partisan congress isn't as easy as it sounds. This one barely got through with only 3 Republican senators supporting it, and zero Republican house members. And it took quite a few concessions from Democrats just to get this level of support.
