asuhowe - the conference is near Cortex's hometown... it probably takes 1/2 day of time away from their other work to attend and present.
And like all other poor souls who are salaried, today's work for Cortex mgmt will get done anyway, just during earlier or later hours than the conference.
It would literally be impossible to find a cheaper or easier way for Cortex to present somewhere.
As for shareholders dying for info, undoubtedly some will be provided today - nothing major I'd think, but general comments on licensing progress and financing alternatives. So Cortex providing info at the conference addresses your main concern.
Either way, anyone that owns COR already knows the facts are pretty simple now... either an RD deal gets done very soon, or Cortex has to raise money and the share price gets hit hard and has its upside capped for a while.
