Hi Fraz.. I just wonder?? LOL!
Sorry.. Off topic slightly.. I don't remember which Aptera video, off hand.. But one of them goes into length about the safety. Seems to me they said side impact is better than most cars out there and the frontal impact danger is what the whole design was built around. As much even as the aerodynamics. The whole frontal cage acts like a shock absorber and crunches upward away from the passenger cabin on impact. After all, it is licenced as a motorcycle in the 2 passenger form. I think it would be safer than my old bygone 750 Suz. cycle lol. And looks a heck of a lot cooler! LOL! If I can get one of them, I'll be pickin up chicks half my age! One of those flashback moments brought full circle.. "Hey babe, you grab the munchies, and I'll grab the pellets & we'll go cruisin'!" LOL!

I asked Frankie about using moden fuel for equipment in underground environments(mines, large sewers, and tunnels), and she told me the moden fuel was pretty expensive, but so is airplane engine fuel so you might want to pursue that thought.. She also told me that regular fuel burning Cyclone engines would be more efficient in air cleaning(than moden) in the underground environment as it would burn up any methane in the area. Cool.. It doesn't pollute, plus it uses up gas that harms the ozone. I love this engine! Have a great day Bud!

Hey Fraz. The thing about Moden is that it has a very low energy density. In other words, a lot more fuel (by weight) has to be carried when using Moden fuel. For this reason alone Moden is probably not a great aircraft fuel.

A Cyclone can certainly be used in an aircraft. In fact the efficiency will go up in this application because the cold air at high altitudes will reduce condenser pressure and raise the mean effective pressure in the engine. At higher altitude it may be necessary to operate the blower fan at a higher rpm to send sufficient air through the condenser. Conventional aircraft engines often use superchargers or turbo chargers to boost manifold air pressure at higher altitudes to overcome the loss of power at high altitudes. Best advantage of using a Cyclone in a small aircraft would definitely be the relative silence. That alone would be worth it. How about a helicopter?
