I think the only deals getting done in Toronto and Vancouver are mining deals. Smart money says this is bargain time.

is it time to start looking at gold juniors?

It's more like is it too late?

Many gold juniors have come off their bottoms. Some like NG up over 500%. A lot of the easy money is almost over.

Now for the rest to keep climbing, the price of gold has to break and hold 1000 dollars.

I recently found a couple of juniors that I took a flyer on.

Sacre-Coeur Minerals, Ltd. SCM.v/SCRMF.pk C$.56
African Queen Mining AQ.v C$.30
They have identified a resource of 451K oz of gold in Guyana in South America. They control almost 1000 sq KM and have identified multiple targets near their main prospect, Million Mountain. This is a low grade deposit that they have been drilling for several years.

I like the CEO. Irwin Olian is an attorney and former VP at Bear Stearns. He recently sold the Madagascar assets from Pan African Mining for $141million. The original shareholders got to keep their shares plus got a big cash dividend. The shares were renamed African Queen Mining, AQ.V and are focused on diamonds in Botswana and Namibia.

Olian appears shareholder friendly, with fairly low share counts in both SCM and AQ. Both are in the 33 million share range.

SCM has their own drills so they can economically explore their land. They are drilling two new zones to boost resource to above 1 million ozs so drill results should be released this spring.

AQ is in the neighborhood of many other diamond mines. Diamonds are extremely difficult to find but Botswana has several large commercial mines. The company has a prospect in Botswana and land in Namibia directly across the border. Drilling is starting now so results should be available in Q2.

I bought a small position in each.
