Question 7: How much maintenance is required for the AGES systems?
There is only one main moving part in the KDS machine. This is the main drive to which a hub and a set of specially designed bars have been attached.
Wear parts inside the KDS chamber are designed to provide a life of 2500 hours and may be changed out in less than 1 hour by a trained crew of 2. Beater bars are recycled and are made available in a variety of materials depending on the application. The rest of the system includes various bearings and drives engineered for 23,000 hours continuous service, when properly lubricated and maintained. Regular maintenance will be carried out by a crew of 2 for 1 shift every 6 months.
Material flow is monitored through the machine. This system is able to monitor build up of material and can make adjustments to ensure this material is automatically removed. It is not necessary to clean the inside of the KDS machine during normal operation as this is handled by automatic system designed into the machine.
AGES offers contracts for maintenance and for spares on consignment, on request.
