#3402 RE: ksquared #3401

Boys will be boys, K2. When I was his age I was riding around on a homemade mini-bike with no brakes and questionable steering. My brother hopped it up so it would do almost 50MPH! My only nod to protective clothing was swapping shorts for jeans and puttin' on my tennies...and I only did that a fraction of the time. (I always hid the blood, Mom didn't know)

Actually, they make these quads for babies...literally. They've shrunk 'em down so far 4 year old could ride one. It's plain ol' family recreation for many families. The boy was wearing a full-face helmet and protective clothing. Believe me, kids are riding these things all over and I've never heard of anyone dying before. I personally would feel my boy was safer in the woods on a quad than on a city street on a bicycle.
