A Member Mark is a good thing ~

If someone gives you one, that means they like your posts and your posting style...When you click on your own alias, it takes you to your Profile page and you can see how many Member Marks you have received...I just visited your Profile page, and I see that you have 20 Member Marks...That's how many people like you and your posts here...

When you give someone a Member Mark, it's because you like them or find value in their posts...Their alias will show up on your Favorites list, and you will be able to see all of their previous posts and all of the boards they post on when you click on their alias...

To give a member here a Member Mark, click on their alias which will take you to their Profile page...Then click on the "Add Person Mark" text...

lol, zigzag told you right...as far it goes on the surface. A bit deeper, it could also mean someone is diametrically opposed to your "general bearing" or specific message(s)...so they want to be able to quickly find your posts and offer a differing opinion.

But, yeah, in general, it shows you've piqued someone's interest, for whatever reason. Lottsa times, peeps are marked cuz they seem to make the earliest calls on potential runners, ie, a "momo play."

Or, maybe you follow certain topics: the person marking you figures they can monitor your posts easier than trying to monitor that topic...

Anyway, no, zig's right, it ain't a bad thang...

But, then, it ain't a bad thang to have few marks, either. Some very good, brilliant posters may have relatively few while some mainly pumper types have a gazillion.

It's like any other "club": after awhile you get to recognize that some have "a following" for one reason and others have a following for completely different reasons...

It means someone wants to keep track of you..."they" want to know when you've been good but more impotently, they want to know when you've been bad. It's for their journal...a diary if you will. And when the tick marks in the bad column outweigh the tick marks in the good column by a factor of 4.875:1...poof..."ib12u who?"
